A conference titled "New Era in Merger Control: Implications of the Communiqué no 2010/4 and Guidelines" will be organized with the cooperation of the Competition Authority and Istanbul Bilgi University, in the Odakule Assembly hall of the Istanbul Chamber of Industry and Commerce on October 11, 2012  The conference aims to discuss the positive and negative implications of the changes introduced by the Communiqué no 201074 which came into force on 1.1.2011, problems encountered in the application of the Communiqué no 2010/4 and suggestions for solutions, substantive tests used in merger control, recent decisions of the Competition Authority on the subject and, in particular, the Guidelines on Remedies That are Acceptable by the Turkish Competition Authority in Merger/Acquisition Transactions which was issued concerning the application of the Communiqué no 2010/4. The aforementioned conference was previously announced for June 19, 2012; however it was postponed due to the busy schedules of the Chairman and Members of the Competition Board.
