Investigation Launched on Volkan Yolcu Taşımacılığı Seyahat Nakliyat Ticaret A.Ş. and Öz Edirne Birlik Mustafa ALTUNHAN (21.7.2016)
Competition Board came to a decision concerning the preliminary inquiry which was launched in response to an application claiming that Volkan Yolcu Taşımacılığı Seyahat Nakliyat Tic. A.Ş. which operates the Edirne Interurban Bus Terminal prevented competition in the market for interurban passenger transport by unfairly terminating the agency contract it signed with Kayapalı Nilüfer Turizm Seyahat Ot. İşl. Tic. Ltd. Şti., which provides passenger transportation services by bus.
Competition Board, after discussing the information, documents and findings included in the file in its meeting of 29.06.2016, deemed the findings significant and sufficient, and took the decision numbered 16-22/394-M, launching an investigation on Volkan Yolcu Taşımacılığı Seyahat Nakliyat Ticaret A.Ş. and Öz Edirne Birlik Mustafa ALTUNHAN to determine whether they violated article 6 of the Act no 4054.
Article 6 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition prohibits abuses of dominant position. The investigation was initiated in order to determine whether the undertaking in question violated article 6 of the Act no 4054.
