Investigation concerning the Turkish Football Federation and Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. was concluded (25.10.2013)

The investigation, conducted in order to determine whether the "Broadcast Rights Contract for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Football Seasons," signed between the Turkish Football Federation and Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. (DİGİTÜRK) on May 21, 2012 violated article 4 of the Act no 4054 by subjecting it to an individual exemption assessment was concluded.

The investigation was initiated in response to an application claiming that the duration concerning the transfer of broadcasting rights for the Super League was extended for two years with the contract signed between the Turkish Football Federation and Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. in violation of the Competition Board decision dated 30.04.2012 and numbered 12-23/659-181. During the investigation phase, it was examined whether the relevant contract, which regulates the transfer of the broadcasting rights falling within the scope of the Package A Broadcasting Rights Contract signed between the Turkish Football Federation and Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. fulfilled the conditions required by the Competition Board decision numbered 12-23/659-181 for granting exemption.

As a result of the discussion of the contents of the file by the Competition Board on 11.10.2013, it was decided that the Broadcast Rights Contract for the 2015-2016 and 2016-2017 Football Seasons, signed between the Turkish Football Federation and Krea İçerik Hizmetleri ve Prodüksiyon A.Ş. (DİGİTÜRK) on May 21, 2012 could be granted individual exemption in accordance with article 5 of the Act no 4054, provided that the conditions detailed in the reasoned text are fulfilled.
