The investigation conducted to determine whether 23 national and local chain markets operating in retail food trade violated articles 4 and 6 of the Act no 4054 while determining the retail prices of water and fresh food and vegetables before Covid-19 period, during 2016 and 2018 was concluded.
As a result of the discussion of the file on 24.03.2022 by the Competition Board, it was decided that since no information or documents could be found showing that 23 market chains operating in retail food trade violated the Act no 4054 by determining the retail prices of water and fresh food and vegetables during the period between 2016 and 2018 it is not necessary to impose administrative fines on the said undertakings within the framework of article 16 of the Act no 4054.
