Cooperation Protocols with Other Competition Authorities

Republic of Korea 

During the "5th UN Conference to Review All Aspects of the Set of Multilaterally Agreed Equitable Principles and Rules for the Control of Restrictive Business Practices" held in Antalya between November 14 and 18, 2005, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Korea Fair Trade Commission on November 17, 2005. The parties aim to develop cooperation in the enforcement of competition rules for ensuring efficiency in the functioning of markets for goods and services with the said Memorandum. 

 

Romania 

Romanian Competition Council and the Turkish Competition Authority signed Memorandum of Understanding  on December 12, 2005 for purposes of enhancing bilateral cooperation in the field of competition legislation and policy. Pursuant to the work plan developed under the memorandum, the parties envisage to exchange information and documents in respect of certain issues to be determined, especially the Romanian Competition Council's experience related to the negotiations conducted in the context of competition rules in the accession process to the European Union.

 

Bulgaria

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Bulgarian Commission on Protection of Competition and the Turkish Competition Authority on December 1, 2007 in Istanbul to be valid until 2017 for developing cooperation in the field of competition law and policy.

 

Portugal 

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Portuguese Competition Authority and the Turkish Competition Authority to exchange information and develop cooperation in the field of competition law on July 28, 2008 in Ankara.

 

Bosnia and Herzegovina 

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Council of Competition of Bosnia and Herzegovina and the Turkish Competition Authority on April 28, 2010 during the 9th Annual Conference of ICN held in Istanbul in order to exchange information and develop cooperation in the field of competition law and policy.

 

Mongolia  

Memorandum of Understanding, which provides for cooperation in the context of competition law and policy, was signed between the Authority for Fair Competition and Consumer Protection of Mongolia and Turkish Competition Authority on April 28, 2010 during the 9th Annual Conference of ICN held in Istanbul.  

 

Russia 

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Federal Antimonopoly Service of the Russian Federation and the Turkish Competition Authority on February 16, 2011 in Paris. 

 

Croatia 

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Croatian Competition Agency and the Turkish Competition Authority on February 17, 2011 in Paris. 

 

Austria 

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between Austria Competition Authority and the Turkish Competition Authority on December 1, 2011 in Vienna/AUSTRIA. 

 

Kazakhstan 

Memorandum for Cooperation was signed between the Agency of the Republic of Kazakhstan for Competition Protection and the Turkish Competition Authority on May 23, 2013 in Astana/KAZAKHSTAN.  

 

Ukraine

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Antimonopoly Committee of Ukraine during the Third Meeting of Türkiye-Ukraine High Level Strategic Council held in our country on October 9, 2013.  

 

Kyrgyzstan

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the State Agency of Antimonopoly Regulation under the Government of Kyrgyz Republic and the Turkish Competition Authority on February 25, 2015.  

 

Georgia 

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Agency of Georgia on November 29, 2016 in Tbilisi/GEORGIA.  It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Agency of Georgia.

 

Tunisia 

Memorandum of Cooperation, which was prepared with an aim to increase cooperation between the Tunisian Competition Authority and the Turkish Competition Authority was signed at the ministerial level in accordance with the Tunisian practice on July 21, 2017, during the third Türkiye – Tunisia Cooperation Meeting held in Tunis between 19 and 21 July 2017.

 

Peru  

Memorandum of Cooperation in the area of competition policy was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the National Institute for the Defense of Competition and the Protection of Intellectual Property of the Republic of Peru (INDECOPI) on October 31, 2017 in Istanbul. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between Turkish Competition Authority and INDECOPI.

 

Kosovo  

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Kosovo Competition Authority on April 10, 2018 in Pristina/KOSOVO. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Kosovo Competition Authority.

 

Serbia

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Commission for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia on April 20, 2018 in Belgrade/SERBIA. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Commission for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Serbia.

 

Albania

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Authority of Albania on September 18, 2018 in Ankara. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Montenegro Agency for Protection of Competition.

 

Azerbaijan 

Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan on February 25, 2020 in Baku/AZERBAIJAN. The Memorandum in question was signed, in accordance with the Azerbaijani practice, at the ministerial level. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the State Service for Antimonopoly and Consumer Market Control under the Ministry of Economy of the Republic of Azerbaijan.

 

Morocco 

A Memorandum of Cooperation was signed online between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Council of the Kingdom of Morocco. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Council of the Kingdom of Morocco.

 

Libya 

A Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Libyan Competition Authority on September 9, 2022 in Ankara.  It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Libyan Competition Authority.

 

Northern Macedonia

The revised and extended version of the existing Memorandum of Cooperation between the Turkish Competition Authority and Commission for Protection of Competition of the Republic of Northern Macedonia was signed on June 5, 2023 in Ankara. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Commission for Protection of Competition of Northern Macedonia.

 

Uzbekistan

Seventh Meeting of Türkiye-Uzbekistan Joint Economic Commission (JEC) was held on December 26, 2023 in Ankara.  
During the meeting, Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and Competition Promotion and Consumer Protection Committee of the Republic of Uzbekistan. The Memorandum of Understanding aims to strengthen information exchange and cooperation in the field of competition law.

 

Hungary

On April 26, 2024 in Budapest/HUNGARY, Memorandum of Cooperation was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and Hungarian Competition Authority. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Hungarian Competition Authority.

 

Egypt

The revised and extended version of the existing Memorandum of Understanding between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Authority of Arab Republic of Egypt was signed in Ankara on September 4, 2024. It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Arab Republic of Egypt.

 

Malaysia

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and Malaysia Competition Council on September 10, 2024 in Ankara. It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Malaysia Competition Council.

 

Greece

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and Hellenic Competition Council on September 30, 2024 in İstanbul.  It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Hellenic Competition Commission.

 

Montenegro

Memorandum of Understanding was signed between the Turkish Competition Authority and Montenegro Agency for Protection of Competition on September 30, 2024 in İstanbul. It is expected that the Memorandum of Understanding will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Montenegro Agency for Protection of Competition.

 

Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus 

The revised and extended version of the existing Memorandum of Cooperation between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Competition Board was signed in Nicosia on November 25, 2024. It is expected that the Memorandum of Cooperation will strengthen the bilateral relations between the Turkish Competition Authority and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus Competition Board.
