Two separate investigations were initiated by the Competition Board in May 2022 on the egg sector about the allegations of price fixing, sharing regions and restricting the quantity of supply. 14 undertakings party to the investigation requested settlement during the investigation process in the first investigation conducted on egg producers. As a result of the settlement processes, the investigation was terminated with the Competition Board decisions including the establishment of the violation and the administrative fines in terms of the undertakings which accepted the existence and the scope of the violation. Both investigations were concluded by the decisions taken by the Competition Board on 26 October 2023.
