Public Announcement (22.7.2016)

The attempted coup pursued by a certain faction within the Turkish Armed Forces with terrorist intent in the late hours of July 15, 2016 was repelled, mainly as a result of the prudent leadership of President Mr. Recep Tayyip ERDOĞAN, the coordination of the Prime Minister Mr. Binali YILDIRIM and the members of the Council of Ministers, as well as the strong support our great nation provided to the security forces with immense foresight and determination to protect its will.

During the revolt, this vicious group despicably used every power and weapon they were granted by the nation against the rulers of our country who represent the national will, against the Grand National Assembly where that will is manifested, and against other public buildings, showing that there was no limit to their treachery by targeting the nation itself. We pray for God’s mercy on every citizen and security personnel who died a martyr in order to protect the national will, and wish a quick recovery to those who were injured.

We would like to extend our thanks to the President and Prime Minister in particular, as well as to the political parties, security forces, non-governmental organizations and to each patriotic member of this great nation for their part in repelling this revolt against our nation and its will. We owe a debt of gratitude to the media organizations and members of the press who, from the start of the coup attempt, took the utmost care to respect the national will and refused to give credence to attempts to manipulate perceptions.

We pray that this great nation will never again see such undeserved hardships in the future, and condemn vehemently all domestic and foreign persons, groups and organizations who ordered, planned, carried out and supported this attempt against the national will and the representatives thereof. Our great nation never forgets traitors and villains and it never will in the future.

Respectfully submitted for the information of the public.
