The President of the Competition Authority, Mr. Birol KÜLE, and the Chairman of the Competition Board of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC), Mr. Mustafa ÜSTÜNEL, signed an updated and expanded version of the existing memorandum of cooperation between the Turkish Competition Authority and the Competition Board of Northern Cyprus, in a ceremony also attended by Mr. Olgun AMCAOĞLU, the Minister of Economy and Energy for TRNC. 

The goal of the memorandum of cooperation is to exchange experience between the Competition Boards of Türkiye and Northern Cyprus in the fields of competition law policies and practices as well as communication with national competition authorities, to organize joint training activities, conferences and seminars to support the development of institutional infrastructure, and to establish and strengthen strong and sustainable cooperation through joint projects in the field of competition.

The official visit to the TRNC conducted between November 24 and 26, 2024, also included audiences with the President of TRNC Mr. Ersin TATA, the Speaker of the Assembly of the Republic Mr. Ziya ÖZTÜRKLER and Ambassador of the Republic of Türkiye to the TRNC Mr. Yasin Ekrem SERİM.
