Investigation launched on TÜRSAB, TÜRSAB Seyahat Acentaları Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Şti., Turser-Tursav Sigorta Acenteliği Ltd. Şti. and Gulf Sigorta A.Ş. (13.9.2017)

The preliminary inquiry conducted in relation to the application claiming that the Association of Turkish Travel Agencies (TÜRSAB) violated the act no 4054 by means of requiring that the agencies organizing Hajj and Umrah journeys should buy the compulsory package tour insurance policy from an undertaking which is TÜRSAB’s subsidiary, making discrimination by not taking the amount of money collected under the name of service charge from some of the agencies and requiring the agencies to buy transport services as well as catering services in Saudi Arabia from undertakings it designates.

After discussing the information and documents acquired and observations made during the preliminary inquiry in its meeting of 22.08.2017, the Board concluded that the findings were significant and sufficient, and took the decision no 17-27/444-M to initiate an investigation about the following undertakings in order to determine whether Act no 4054 was violated:

TÜRSAB Seyahat Acentaları Hizmetleri Tic. Ltd. Şti.,

Turser-Tursav Sigorta Acenteliği Ltd. Şti.,

Gulf Sigorta A.Ş.
