Investigation Launched on Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. (3.4.2017)

Competition Board concluded the preliminary inquiry conducted in response to the application claiming that Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş. distorted competition in the market for concrete pumps and for trucks fitted with concrete pumps by abusing its dominant position through the agreements it concluded with concrete pump manufacturers and the discount systems implemented for those manufacturers.

After examining the information and evidence gathered and the observations made during the preliminary inquiry in its meeting of 28.02.2017, Competition Board decided the findings were significant and sufficient, and took the decision numbered 17-09/105-M to launch an investigation on Mercedes-Benz Türk A.Ş.

As known, article 6 of the Act no 4054 prohibits abuses of dominant position. The investigation was initiated in order to determine whether the undertaking in question violated article 6 of the Act no 4054.
