The Competition Board took a decision about the preliminary inquiry concerning the claim that the economic entity consisted of Tirsan Kardan Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Tiryakiler Yedek Parça Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. pressured suppliers against its competitors, some suppliers did not supply goods to competitors due to such pressure and by this way abused its dominant position in the sales services for drive shaft and its components.

After discussing the information, documents and findings acquired in the preliminary inquiry in its meeting of 16.10.2014, the Board considered that the findings were significant and sufficient, and took the decision numbered 14-40/738-M that an investigation shall be initiated about the economic entity consisted of Tirsan Kardan Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş. and Tiryakiler Yedek Parça Sanayi ve Ticaret A.Ş.

As it is known, article 6 of the Act no 4054 prohibits abuse of dominant position. The investigation was initiated whether the said economic entity violated article 6 of the Act no 4054 by means of exclusionary practices against its competitors.

*Investigation decisions taken by the Competition Board are announced to the public following the notification of the decision to the undertakings or associations of undertakings under investigation. Those announcements, which are made within the framework of informing the public about the decisions of the Competition Board, cannot be interpreted to mean that the undertakings or associations of undertakings about which the investigation is opened have violated the Act no 4054, or they are or will be subject to penal sanctions under the Act.
