Competition Authority concluded the investigation conducted in order to determine whether the Turkish Pharmacists' Association and the Turkish Pharmacists' Association Commercial Enterprise violated article 6 of the Act no 4054 by their practices related to the importation of those pharmaceuticals which are not licensed or which cannot be supplied to the market for various reasons despite being licensed.
As a result of the discussion of the file by the Competition Board on 06.12.2016, it was decided that Turkish Pharmacists' Association Commercial Enterprise held dominant position in the market for pharmaceutical imports, that it violated article 6 of the Act by signing exclusive agreements with foreign pharmaceutical suppliers, and that therefore an administrative fine should be imposed on the undertaking concerned in accordance with article 16 of the same Act.
