With the Competition Board decision dated 07.12.2023 and no 23-56/1128-M, it was decided that a preliminary inquiry would be made about Volta Motor Sanayi ve Ticaret Anonim Şirketi (VOLTA) with regard to the claim that it violated the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition by means of resale price maintenance and region and customer restrictions on resellers. 

Within the framework of the information and documents obtained and analyses made during the preliminary inquiry process, it was concluded that VOLTA intervened in the freedom of the members of the distribution system to determine prices and some of the provisions in the contracts made with its resellers had the characteristics of region and customer restrictions; with the Board decision dated 21.03.2024 and no 24-14/303-M, it was decided that an investigation would be opened per article 41 of the Act no 4054 to determine whether the undertaking violated article 4 of the same Act.

It has been decided that the investigation in question shall be 

•  terminated with settlement in terms of resale price maintenance allegations and the undertaking shall be imposed 6.584.515,20 TL administrative fines, with the Board decision dated 24.04.2024 and no 24-20/460-194, 
•  terminated with commitments in terms of the allegations of region and customer restrictions on resellers, with the Board decision dated 04.07.2024  and no 24-28/671-276.
