Investigation Concerning Istanbul Customs Brokers Association Initiated (6.7.2018)

The preliminary inquiry conducted upon the application claiming that Istanbul Customs Brokers’ Association violated article 4 of the Act no. 4054 by means of its decisions was concluded by the Competition Board.

After discussing the information and documents acquired and observations made during the preliminary inquiry in its meeting of 12.06.2018, the Board concluded that the findings were significant and sufficient, and took the decision no. 18-19/322-M to initiate an investigation about Istanbul Customs Brokers’ Association in order to determine whether the undertaking in question violated article 4 of the Act no 4054.

*Investigation decisions taken by the Competition Board are announced to the public following the notification of the decision to the undertakings or associations of undertakings under investigation. Those announcements, which are made within the framework of informing the public about the decisions of the Competition Board, cannot be interpreted to mean that the undertakings or associations of undertakings under investigation have violated the Act no 4054, or they are or will be subject to penal sanctions under the Act.
