The Competition Board concluded the preliminary inquiry, which was conducted upon the claim that Aslanlar Metal Alüminyum P.V.C. Plastik İmalatı İth. İhr. San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. and Solar-San Vakumlu Cam Tüp Üretim San. ve Tic. A.Ş. agreed to increase the prices of vacuumed glass tubes that are used in solar water heating systems.

Having discussed the information, documents and findings obtained as a result of the preliminary inquiry in its meeting on 16.10.2015, the Competition Board took the decision numbered 15-38/621-M to open an investigation about Aslanlar Metal Alüminyum P.V.C. Plastik İmalatı İth. İhr. San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti. and Solar-San Vakumlu Cam Tüp Üretim San. ve Tic. A.Ş.

As it is known, article 4 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition prohibits agreements and concerted practices between undertakings that restrict competition. The investigation was initiated in order to determine whether the said undertakings violated article 4 of the Act no 4054.

*Investigation decisions taken by the Competition Board are announced to the public following the notification of the decision to the undertakings or associations of undertakings under investigation. Those announcements, which are made within the framework of informing the public about the decisions of the Competition Board, cannot be interpreted to mean that the undertakings or associations of undertakings about which the investigation is opened have violated the Act no 4054, or they are or will be subject to penal sanctions under the Act.
