The sector examination conducted by the Competition Authority in the fast moving consumer goods (FMCG) retail sector has been concluded. "Preliminary Report on the Sector Examination into the Retailing of Turkish Fast Moving Consumer Goods," which was prepared to open the preliminary findings and suggestions established in the first stage of the two-phase sector examination to discussion by the sector shareholders was published on the website of the Competition Authority on 11.03.2011(in Turkish).
The "Final Report on the Sector Examination into the Retailing of Turkish Fast Moving Consumer Goods," prepared as a result of the second stage of the sector examination includes the shareholder opinions on the Preliminary Report, as well as all examinations, inquiries, establishments made and final assessments reached. Within this framework, the Final Report concerns the structure of the FMCG Retailing Sector, its development, the legal framework of the sector, the development of buyer power during the structural transformation process which supported organized channel in gaining power within the sector, and competition policy suggestions concerning buyer power.
