Organization of Turkic States (TDT), whose foundations were laid by the Nakhchivan Agreement dated October 3 2009, has become a remarkable example of regional cooperation with its recent decisions, practices and cooperation issues. With its members, Türkiye, Kazakhstan, Uzbekistan, Kyrgyzstan and Azerbaijan and the participation of Hungary, Turkmenistan and Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus as observers, TDT is taking firm steps towards being an active and significant actor in the international arena. In addition, TDT has achieved a thousand-year dream as a friendship and fraternity bridge connecting Central Asia-Caucasus- Anatolia and Central Europe and has become an important platform for the cooperation and integration of the Turkic world.
As a part of this mission, with the initiative to bring competition authorities of member states together, which is led by our Authority and coordinated by the Secretariat General of TDT, the Competition Council of Turkic States has reached the establishment phase. The aim is to strengthen the relations based on common historical, linguistic and cultural heritage between the Council members as well as to carry out joint studies, visits, training activities; to develop projects; to share experiences to understand today’s competition problems and in this way to spread competition culture throughout our region.
It is expected that the issue will be handled during the 10th Presidential Summit of TDT on November 3, 2023 in Astana, Kazakhstan and the decision on the establishment of a council by the competition authorities of member states to develop cooperation and joint projects will be included in the final declaration.
