Balkan Competition Platform (4.10.2024)

The Turkish Competition Authority took action with an aim to strengthen the relationships between Balkan competition authorities based on common historical heritage, cultural ties and geography on the one side, and to understand and solve current issues in competition law and spread competition culture in the region on the other. The meeting of the Balkan Competition Platform, organized by the Turkish Competition Authority, was held in İstanbul on September 30, 2024, with the participation of high-level representatives from the Competition Authorities of Albania, Bosnia-Herzegovina, Bulgaria, Montenegro, Republic of Kosovo, North Macedonia, Romania, Greece and Hungary (guest of honor). The opening speeches of the meeting were given by Mr. Birol KÜLE, the President of the Authority, and by Prof. Ömer BOLAT, the Minister of Trade. After the reading of the letter of the President of the Republic, Mr. Tayyip ERDOĞAN, concerning the program, Assoc. Prof. Hakan BİLİR, Deputy President of the Turkish Competition Authority, and the representatives of the foreign competition authorities took the floor and presented their contributions.
