The investigation concerning 10 undertakings operating in manufacturing and marketing tractors has reached the hearing stage.

With the decision of the Competition Board dated 05.01.2023, an investigation was opened about  AGCO Tarım Makineleri Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Argo Tractors Turkey Traktör San. ve Tic. Ltd. Şti., Başak Satış Pazarlama ve Yatırım AŞ, Erkunt Traktör Sanayii AŞ, Hattat Traktör Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ, IPSO Tarım AŞ, Kubota Turkey Makine Ticaret Ltd. Şti., Same Deutz Fahr Traktör San. ve Tic. AŞ, Tümosan Motor ve Traktör Sanayi AŞ and Türk Traktör ve Ziraat Makinaları AŞ, which are operating in the sector for manufacturing and marketing tractors, to determine whether they violated article 4 of the Act no 4054 on the Protection of Competition (the Act no 4054). The investigation was about the claims that the said parties used resale price maintenance, imposed customer/region restrictions to their dealers and engaged in information exchange that restricted competition.

The investigation is examining whether the said undertakings violated article 4 of the Act no 4054 by means of sharing strategic information and/or making anticompetitive agreements and whether Hattat Traktör Sanayi ve Ticaret AŞ intervened in and determined its dealers’ resale prices. 

The hearing will be held at the Competition Authority Headquarters on July 9, 2024, at 10:30.
